RegFox gives you full control over what memberships are offered on each registration page. You can choose which membership levels to display and customize whether registrants can purchase, renew, or verify a membership directly on that page. You can also decide if a membership is required to register or if memberships are offered as an optional add-on.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to add and customize membership options for your registration page, set up actions for your members, and experience the registrant experience so you can create a seamless membership flow.

Pro Tip: Before you can add a membership option on your registration page, you must configure the membership levels on your account. Click here to learn how to set up your membership levels and manage your members.

Add and Customize a Membership Field on Your Registration Page

RegFox lets you easily add a Membership field to your page so customers can purchase, verify, or renew a membership during the registration process. You can create customizable membership levels with their own pricing and settings, giving you flexible control over how memberships are offered on your pages.

  • From the Pages screen, click the pencil icon under the page you want to edit

  • Scroll below the header, and click the green + icon where you want to add the field

  • Select the Member Manager field

  • Enter a Label for your Membership field

  • Toggle the Required field to Yes or No

  • Add the Type of membership field you want to offer

    • The Purchase & Verify option allows individuals to either purchase a new membership, or verify their valid membership

    • The Purchase option only allows individuals to purchase a new membership

    • The Verify option only allows individuals to verify their current valid membership

    • The Purchase & Renew option allows individuals to either purchase a new membership, or renew their previous, expired membership

Note: If a membership level is toggled to No, it will not appear as a purchase option on the registration page, and RegFox will not validate that membership level on the page.

  • Turn on the membership level(s) you want to offer on the page by toggling on the level

  • Click Done

  • Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page

Set Actions that Apply for Your Members

Once your Memberships are set up, you can begin creating automated actions that respond to a customer’s membership status. These actions can trigger when someone adds a valid membership, holds a specific membership level, renews an existing membership, or signs up as a brand-new member. This gives you powerful control over what customers see and how their experience adapts based on their membership journey.

Registrant Experience

In RegFox, registrants can both purchase new memberships and verify existing ones directly during checkout. Here's how registrants can purchase memberships and verify existing memberships on your RegFox page.

Purchasing a Membership

To purchase a membership, registrants select Create New Membership in the Membership field, then choose from the available membership options on your registration page. They can complete their registration purchase and submit their order.

After submitting, they will receive a confirmation email with their general registration information. The confirmation email will display their membership number that can be used to verify their membership on other pages.

Registrants will also receive a separate email with their membership information. This email will include their membership level, their member ID, their membership status, and their expiration date.

Verifying a Membership

To verify a membership, registrants select I Have a Membership and enter the membership number found in their confirmation email. If they don’t remember it, they can choose I forgot my number and enter the email associated with the membership. RegFox will send an email with their membership details. After their membership is verified, they can submit their order.

FAQs

Does RegFox give registrants an email when their membership is about to expire?

If a registrant signed up for a membership and did not opt in to auto-renew their membership, RegFox will not let them know that their membership is about to expire.

Can I test validating a member in Preview mode?

No, you cannot test validating a membership in Preview mode. We recommend testing this functionality on a live page. If you try to validate a membership on RegFox, the system will display "Oops.... data: record not found" when you submit an order with a membership.

Can I offer memberships in multiple different currencies on 1 RegFox page?

No. A RegFox page can currently support memberships in only one currency. The Member Manager field will only display memberships in your page's set currency. Membership levels and pages cannot be priced in multiple currencies.

If someone purchases a membership in RegFox, can they validate it on a RegFox or RedPodium page?

Yes! Memberships apply across RegFox, TicketSpice, and RedPodium. A membership purchased in RegFox can be validated seamlessly on TicketSpice and RedPodium as well.

Do we send members an email when they sign up or renew as a member?

When someone purchases or renews a membership on your live registration page, they will receive an email with their membership information. This membership info email is sent in addition to the standard confirmation email sent to registrations after registering on your RegFox page.

The membership info email includes the selected membership level, member ID, membership status, and expiration date. The email has the subject line: "[Your Organization Name] Your {Membership Level} Membership Information."

This membership email is system-generated and cannot be customized, and recipients cannot reply to the email. If needed, you can resend the membership information email to members at any time. Click here to learn how to resend this email.

Can I resend the membership email with the individual's membership number?

Yes, you can resend the membership email that contains their membership information at any time.

  • From the top menu bar, hover over the Extras tab

  • Select Memberships from the dropdown

  • Select the Members tab on the left-hand side

Pro Tip: You can filter your members by the membership level they selected, the status of the membership, or the day the member signed up for the membership.

  • Search for the member using their name or email in the search box

  • Click the eye icon on the member you want to view

  • Click the ... (ellipsis) icon in the top right corner

  • Select Resend Membership Info Email

Pro Tip: Membership details in the membership info email such as the membership level, member ID, status, and expiration date are updated at the time you send the email, so they always reflect the most current information.
