What is the difference between RegFox and TicketSpice?

Decide which product is best for you and your needs

Written by Maddy

RegFox and TicketSpice are designed for different kinds of events. RegFox is an event registration platform built to collect detailed information from every registrant, while TicketSpice is an event ticketing platform built to sell tickets quickly with minimal data entry. This article breaks down how the two products differ so you can choose the right one, or use both, for your events.

Compare Registrant Data

The biggest difference between the two products is how much information they're built to collect from each person who signs up.

  • RegFox is built to collect detailed information for every registrant, such as name, address, email, session choice, meal choice, T-shirt size, room choice, and job title

  • TicketSpice is built to collect more minimal information needed to issue a ticket. While you can still add custom fields to a TicketSpice page to collect more from your attendees, most organizers ask for limited information, including the ticket buyer's name and billing details

Pro Tip: RegFox is typically used for events where registrant details matter, like conferences, camps, classes, and conventions.

TicketSpice is typically used for events that require less information for each attendee, including concerts, music festivals, shows, exhibits, and galas.

Compare the Buying Experience

RegFox and TicketSpice also walk buyers through checkout in different ways, which is worth considering alongside how much data you need to collect.

  • RegFox: the person checking out adds each registrant one at a time, completing all required fields for that registrant before adding the next person to the order

  • TicketSpice: The buyer selects how many tickets they want from a ticket block, enters any order-level information once, and checks out for the whole order at one time

Example: On a RegFox page, someone signing up four campers fills out the full registration form for each camper individually before checking out.

In TicketSpice, a buyer can grab four tickets to a concert in a couple of clicks. They then enter any other information for the order and check out.

Compare Product-Specific Features

Both RegFox and TicketSpice offer unique features and capabilities. If your event requires a feature that's exclusive to one platform, that can help determine which product is the best fit for your needs.
